The Midnight Ball (fundraiser)

     A bewitching ball of waltzes, harmonic melodies and theatrical performances inspired by waltz music, Leonard Cohen and Johann Strauss, The Midnight Ball brings to you the sounds of Vienna, set to be staged in Brighton, in the magnificent ambiance of  St Bartholomew's, Europe's tallest brick church. Guests from near and far, international artists and musicians will come together to celebrate the opening of a most enchanting ball. Come dance, frolic and enjoy an evening of delights.

Included in your ticket, for both dancers and non dancers alike, Dorothy's Shoes, dance teacher for 'THE RAGROOF PLAYERS' and Sasha will be hosting  a class in Waltz , Ballroom and other classic partner dances


The Midnight Ball show & opening ceremony with live musical and theatrical performances from artists such as  Pilar Onares, Yael Karavan, Seth Morgan, John Welles & Brighton Swing Choir & More. (more info below) 

THE LIVE IMPROV WALTZ BAND lead by the infamous Reverend Rohan Kriwaczek on piano and starring internationally acclaimed klezmerpunk Merlin Shepherd on saxophone/clarinet & The Grand Master of Celtic fusion Jason "Wild Goat" Dickinson on violin will play where you can dance beneath the stars until there are holes in your shoes. Dress in your best.There will be a cash only pop up bar for any drinking desires.

set to be staged at the beginning of July following a SELL OUT run of 'The House of Dreams' at the Spire.  In a time where it is challenging to make new work because support and funds have significantly dropped we must find new ways. May this dance be the first of many. With love from The Inexplicable Theatre.

 Dorothy has over thirty years of experience in the performing arts– from punk-rock drummer to performance artist; ballroom dance teacher to street arts choreographer and site-specific theatre-maker. 


european artist, dancer and performer will bewilder you with dance and movement drawing on elements of Butoh, dance, mime, clown, physical and visual theatre she explores the themes of Memory, Metamorphoses, the invisible and the notion of repetitive cycles, constantly balancing on the fine line between the tragic and the comic.




Brighton based spanish pianist and musical composer will bring tears to your eyes as she plays an enchanting piano solo 


Having recently completed his 48th illustrious solar sojourn, Morgan will attempt to translate angelic musings for the pleasure of your innocent human minds. 


a man of a mysterious demeanour will be performing impossible magic from a ridiculous height 

BRIGHTON SWING CHOIR will be making a guest appearance bringing to you delightful harmonies and charming melodies in a most perfect suited space for it lead by Emily from The Close Shaves
